All is peaceful. I just watched the sun come up here in New England. It is cold outside, but it is as it should be for this time of the year. While I am having my first cup of Earl Gray for the day, I feel it is the perfect time to sit and send my Walkers friend good wishes. My eighth year! What a spectacular weekend walking, making new friends and speading the news about breast cancer. I walked 39miles in the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer 2011. So rewarding!

I am looking forward to participating in 2012 for the ninth time.

As you probably already know I have decided to participate in Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This is such an important cause to me because this year, an estimated 40,000 women will die from the disease. Breast cancer takes another life every 14 minutes. Another woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes. An estimated three million women are living with breast cancer. One million of them don't yet know it.

As part of the event, I pledged to raise money. People can make donations on my behalf, so that I can reach my fundraising goal. With the donations raised, the Avon Foundation will provide support and resources for women affected by this terrible disease. This will help so many people in our own community and throughout the country. Any amount you can give is great; I just appreciate your support.

Last year I was not able to walk, but this year I am back. I have just registered for the 2011 Avon Walk. I am so excited to be doing this again. I have stared my first fundraiser event for St Patrick's Day. My annual 50/50 at The Corner Tap. It always so much fun and rewarding!

I never make a New Year Resolution, but I am going to make one this year. It will be to take more time for myself. I am not saying that I am going to be selfish, but to not put myself on the back burner, like I have been doing. I really enjoy caring for me family, giving my all to my job, volunteering all my spare time to Hearthside and time at daily monitoring my websites and blogs. Somewhere in all of this, I have not spent any time to self improvement. My spiritual health is in need of repair. My physical health need a lot of attention.

Another successful Walk 2010

Boston had another successful walk this year (2010). Many thanks to our excellent host, Reebock.

I had a most glorious time cheering in the Walkers to the wellness village on the Reebock grounds.
The hospitality team was out in full Southern Bell gala, to welcome them home for the night.
The evening was spectacular and enchanting. I ,in my Victorian sleeping ware enjoyed a cup of tea before retiring in my tent.

This was my first year as a Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Crew. I have walked for the last six years and this was another side of the walk that was just as important. I felt I have made a big difference in the fight to end breast cancer. GREAT WEEKEND!

On May 15-16th, I will be on the Hospitality Team for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
I will cheering my walkers family into the Wellness Village. I will be dressed as an Victorian Lady graciously welcoming them home.

Today I started working on my skirt that I plan to wear that weekend. I made it out of a shower curtain, to make it rain proof. Every year ,it has rained the two days. It will make a parasol from an umbrella. I want to be well prepared.

Womem's Health Fair in Woonsocket

On Saturday April 17, 2010 , I attended the YWCANRI & Quota Club 10th Annual Community Hearing & Health Fair held at the Elk’s Club, 280 Social Street in Woonsocket.

I set up a table to raise awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

This will be my 3rd year attending the health fair. My good friend Joyce and the Director of the YWCA always presents me with a check for the cause.

It was an amazing day. I raised over $100.00 and meet a wonderful man with a heart of gold. He had a table next to mine. He was Erine Blanchette the Community Relations Coordinator for Mount Saint Rita Health Centre.

We enjoyed each other company and gave each other support.

All in all it was a day of teaching and learning. I meet a lot of health caregivers and I was proud to be apart of this wonderful program.

fundraiser for the proceeds to benefit the Avon Walk for cancer.

My participation in 2010

I will be participating in the Avon Walk for breast cancer for the seventh time on May 15-16, 2010. I will not be walking because of an aggravated heal spur, that my Dr. advise that I do not aggravate by walking long distances.
I will still be fund raising and showing my support as crew member, which is an honor.
I will like to cheer the walkers on their walk in my Victorian attire. Victorians was such gracious greeters. It will be fun and cheerful. So walkers, look for me on the side line with a big pink Victorian hat, cheering you on.

Here we can stay connected as a family, share stories, encourage one another, share our pictures, and fund raise all year round.

I created this worldwide group to network with all the Avon walkers, supports and sponsor and survivors, to give them a place to set up a profile page, to get their message out about their walk effects and to get more supporters. Today I spent many hours emailing my friends, family, co-workers, and alumni for support in my fundraising effects. Even though it is my 4th year, it still isn't easer to ask then for money. I just have to keep in mind that I am not asking for myself. I am asking for someone to get better and to help find a cure for something that is taking woman's lives. It's NOT for me.
